Golf Society weekend away
As part of our society’s 50th Anniversary year we had a weekend away at Telford Golf & Country Club. I had read some of the reviews prior to going and arrived slightly worried. There was no need to worry, the staff were pleasant and very helpful, the food was excellent, rooms were clean and of a good standard, the course was in great condition. All 16 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend helped by the staff and facilities. Would highly recommend 👏👍
Best massage & facial experience ever!
I can honestly say this was the best massage and facial I have ever had from start to finish, Laura was absolutely incredible. The massage was perfect it was so relaxing and exactly to what I needed. I’ve had plenty of spa treatments over the years, but this was by far the best. Laura deserves a pay rise! As if her amazing skills weren’t enough, she also has the most fabulous Liverpudlian accent. Thank you, Laura, for such a wonderful treatment. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending you to everyone. 100/10!
Extremely relaxing
We had a lovely relaxing spa day today. Laura and Elizabeth did a double back and facial massage for me and my bestie and we were in heaven. Lovely girlies and best massage we have ever had. My back can’t thank you enough! (They absolutely need a payrise and we can’t wait to come back).
Fabulous location, Fabulous hotel
Excellent hotel, in a stunning location. The approach was uninspiring but once at the resort, wow. The views from my room, and the bar/restaurant are absolutely stunning, especially on a sunny early morning with mist in the valley. The staff were outstanding, very efficient, professional, but mostly friendly and approachable. The room was comfortable, clean, amazing view, with a comfortable bed, and a brilliant shower. The food was very good. I don't have sophisticated palette, but it was wholesome, tasty, and hot. Ultimately I would recommend this resort, and will definitely cone back if I am on the area. Thank you to all the team for a fantastic stay. And its within walking distance if the Ironbridge Unesco world heritage site, well worth the visit. Oh, the hotel has EV charging, if thats important!
Good break away
Excellent place to stay if visiting Iron Bridge museums. Good friendly atmosphere in the hotel. Lovely room, quiet and comfortable. Didn't like the seating in the restaurant, long, low bench seating in the majority which wasn't very comfortable to eat from. Prefer chair seating. The sun was beautiful but not shining on your face when trying to enjoy an evening meal. Blinds could be installed to be used when the sun is low. Spa area very good .
Top notch
A friendly welcoming atmosphere, so helpful. Room was comfortable and clean, air conditioning was a bonus. Food was excellent. We had an overnight spa break including treatment. The ladies in the spa, were professional, friendly and certainly knew their stuff. The whole experience was top notch.
Good Value Golf Trip
We stayed for 2 nights and 3 rounds of golf. Including breakfast and dinner we only paid £229 per person which represents good value. The golf course was very dry due to the extreme heat but the greens were exceptionally good. They are opening a trackman range shortly which meant we had no practice facility at all. We had no idea that the range was closed. Rooms were ok but air con only worked well in 1 of our 3 rooms. Breakfast was good but they kept running out of items on the hot counter despite being reasonably quiet. Dinner allowance of £35 was sufficient. We had a nice dinner on the first evening but booked a little later (20:30) in the second evening and seemed to be forgotten. We actually waited 30 minutes before anyone took an order and 45 minutes for a drink. The restaurant was air conditioned but there is a separate area with a pool table and tv to watch sport. Quite a few people went there to watch the World Cup football games but almost all left to watch in their rooms as if was so ridiculously hot. There were no windows and no air con. I find it difficult to fault for the price we paid but it could have been so much better. We booked the same package at Belton Woods. and for £100 more was a far better experience.
A Lovely Non-Golf Break
Had a lovely break at The Telford Hotel & Spa. Room was very spacious and well serviced. The food in the restaurant was very good but there were several golf groups there at the same time who were a little loud, although they were doing nothing wrong. It is, after all, what the Hotel strives to attract, the larger groups of golfers. The immediate area is very beautiful and well worth a visit. I would recommend this hotel, especially if its available on a deal with Travelzoo or similar.
Good
Pleasant generic resort hotel with very helpful staff, reasonable food and good facilities. Room was comfortable and generous. We had problem with air conditioning in first room which was handled well and finally sorted by Dan their excellent "jack of all trades"
Great experience
A two day golf break with friends. Excellent tough course, good helpful professional shop. Generally good service in the bars, excellent service in restaurants and breakfast. Food is very good, plenty of choice. Overall impressive and likely to be going back.
An exceptional anniversary stay with outstanding service!
We stayed here for two nights in July to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, we received a wonderfully warm welcome, complete with a thoughtful congratulatory note from "the team" in our room. Our superior room was exceptionally comfortable, featuring highly effective air-conditioning and excellent amenities, including bathrobes, a capsule coffee machine, electronic safe, and a minibar for wine, beer and soft drinks. The culinary experience was a real highlight. Since the Gorge Bar stops serving meals at 6pm, we chose to dine at the 1779 Restaurant on both nights—a decision we did not regret. The menu is very appealing, offering beautifully prepared, high-quality dishes like the miso garlic oyster mushrooms, pan-fried scallops, guinea fowl breast, grilled hake fillet, and roasted lamb rump, alongside perfected classics like the crispy fish and chips, fillet steak, and British cheeseburger. Location-wise, the hotel is ideally situated for visiting Coalport and Ironbridge, boasting gorgeous views. The facilities, including the spa, EV car charging, and golf course, provide everything you could possibly need for a relaxing, leisurely getaway. What truly elevated our stay was the attentive, friendly service at reception and in the bars and restaurants. While the entire team was lovely, we want to extend a special thank you to Josh A. and Carolyn D. for their exceptional hospitality, guidance, and support. We highly recommend this hotel!
lovely stay
Great stay at the Telfprd Spa, had a premier room which came with a stocked mini fridge, whoop whoop, Children loved the swimming pool, missed not having a jacuzzi as other Qhotels have. Didnt have the opportunity to eat in the evening but the breakfast was superb, Special mention to the gentleman working in the evening when we checked in (26th - 28th) very passionate and informative
A very enjoyable break
A wonderful location with stunning views across the gorge and good access to a number of points of interest. Room was very clean and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed a lovely dinner on the first night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely stay
Thank you Isi
To start I would like to apologise for timely deal in posting this, First attempt failed. Hi Another resent visit to Telford Golf & Spa on 5 th July for on night stopover whilst visiting family near by, This being our second in approximately one month. Firstly again I would like to thank ISI wholeheartedly for rearranging our allocated bedroom which was on the lower ground floor, I ask if it was possible to move us to the fourth floor to one of our favourite room 436. ISI is in our opinion a truly 5 gold star employee for the hotel / group , Alway greeting guess with her warm welcoming smile with an attitude to match. Alway trying her upmost best to welcome and please guests new and old, for guests in their later years this is a real pleasure as some younger receptionist can be cold and clinical as experienced at another hotel recently. Thank you again ISI . The stay was as it as been over the last many years of staying here. All staff friendly and willing to chat or not if you require peace and quiet. Breakfast is a treat plenty to choose from even for the most fussy eat. Staff hard working, Jude who as become someone we love to chat with, alway welcoming, as are all restaurant staff. Dinner in the restaurant can be sometimes loud and noisy if there is a visiting golf club playing away on another golf course, But as it says Golf and Spa, this seems only at weekend. bear this in-mind, this helps keep the Telford going in these tuff times for hospitality, There is not a lot more I can say that Iv not said before. Thank You All
Worth a stay
Beautiful location. Excellent restaurant. Rooms comfortable. Not very disabled friendly, more ramps needed. Bar by golf course closed to early.
Great weekend away
Visited for two nights on a Travelzoo deal. A lovely warm welcome, it was our anniversary so we received an upgraded room, very quiet, very clean. Met with complementary Prosecco and chocolate and a drink voucher, in addition to the bottle of wine included in our package. Dined on the first night and food was excellent, again really friendly staff. The views from the veranda outside the restaurant are beautiful. Great breakfast, lots of choice. Would highly recommend.
Will come back!
Very nice room - very helpful staff. Excellent food and drink. A great location to explore Ironbridge and Shropshire. Very good value with the deal we had.
Thank you Alex! 😙
Alex on reception was absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful. She quickly sorted me out with a room at very last minute, and even kindly lent me a charger despite it being a pain to find! She even walked me to my room because I was struggling to navigate the place 🤣 Her warmth and helpfulness made such a difference. She’s a real credit to the hotel. And we’ll definitely come back to stay again because of this positive experience. Thank you, Alex! Claire xx
Lovely Telford
Hi we stayed at this lovely hotel on 09/08/2026 for two nights after getting a good deal on Travelzoo. We had stayed previously in 2020 and we had vowed not to return. We are so glad we did everything was lovely. The staff were all polite and helpful. We had to change rooms because there was no fridge in our room and I need a fridge for medication and even though the hotel was very busy, the reception staff arranged this with a smile. The evening meal was lovely and all the staff were attentive. We used the pool and sauna this was a good experience, the pool was a decent temperature. The only area for improvement would be to put fridges in all the rooms. We will definitely return.
Comfortable, beautiful and quiet!!
Hotel chosen for its proximity to the Shropshire Petal Fields Festival. Very central location for visiting various surrounding areas including Irongate and David Austin Roses. Very happy with all facilities in the room. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean with ample tea/coffee sachets and a decent kettle. On arrival, the air con wasn’t working but reception quickly reallocated us a room with working air con, as it was during the heatwave we were very grateful for that. Comfortable lounge area to sit and play cards in the evening and relax. Despite the hotel being fully booked, there is plenty of space for it not to feel overcrowded, we were able chat without being disturbed by others. It was really quiet and relaxing, no noise at night. Restaurant was excellent, we had dinner and breakfast which was well cooked and plentiful!! The grounds are beautiful with a lovely view from the restaurant balcony and stunning sunsets. Staff are helpful and efficient. Would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend to others.
